History of Desk Top Publishing (DTP) dates back to early 1980s, when Letterpress Printing was at great demand. The text were first done by composing the letters on a block and later printed on paper.

Visiting cards were designed by artists, who got the text printed on bromide. The sizes of letters were not customisable. This changed by the introduction of PageMaker for MAC computers. Added advantage was LaserPrinters got support for PostScript.
